Education

Mission

The Future Jewelers Academy addresses the national shortage of bench jewelers at the high school level and connects underrepresented youth with career opportunities in the jewelry industry.

Goals

  • Early Engagement: Committed funding allows us to introduce jewelry-making to students in grades 4 and above through summer camps, weekend classes, and field trips. This early exposure helps build their knowledge, increasing skills, internship opportunities and career placements.
  • Program Commitment: Dedicated funding enables students to plan ahead and commit to the program, fostering deeper involvement through a structured program track.
  • Scholarships: We will ensure a percentage of students receive committed scholarships by the time they graduate high school, working with industry partners to increase these scholarships yearly and support students pursuing careers in the jewelry industry.
  • Post-Graduation Support: Partnering with organizations like MJSA, we will track students after graduation and during apprenticeships to improve the program and enhance job placement and internship opportunities.
  • Industry Partnerships: We aim to continuously identify industry partners to support our impact through donations, sponsorships, apprenticeships, mentorships, and scholarships.
